This major command, which has its headquarters in
Münchengladbach, takes over the responsibilities for materiel and testing
affairs from the Army Office and was also set in charge for three medical
brigades and three logistic brigades. The SSI of this organization is the
same as that of the Army Office, with the exception that the shield is
blue instead of red. Heraldically, the swords represents the military and
the blue of the shield represent the colors of the three branches, which
dominates this major command: Medium blue for the "Nachschubtruppe" (Supply
and Quartermaster Corps) and the "Instandsetzungstruppe" (Maintenance
Corps), and dark blue for the "Sanitaetstruppe" (Medical Corps). |

hladnog rata, a reorganizacijom vojske 1990, u nadležnosti im ostaju

This major command, which has its headquarters in
Cologne (Köln), was originally established during the formation of the old
(Cold War) German Army in the mid of the 1950s and was then in charge for
all affairs concerning personel and materiel, training and testing. Now
its responsibilities were reduced to personnel and training affairs. The
insignia of this organization is a red shield, bordered by a white rope,
which bears two crossed swords with black and white blades, and yellow
handparts. The heraldry for this SSIs is severely limited - the swords
represents the military. The insignia was approved almost 30 years before
the German reunification. |

BUNDESWEHR UNIVERSITIES
VOJNA FAKULTETI |
|
Njemačke oružane snage (Bundeswehr) vode dva sveučilišta - jedno u
Münchenu, (Bundeswehr University München) i drugo u Hamburgu
The German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) runs two universities - one in
Munich, (Bundeswehr University Munich) and another in Hamburg (Helmut
Schmidt University) - which focus on the scientific work and the
academic study of the German armed forces'
officers. Unlike other nations' military academies, both universities
only offer courses of study which have almost no relation to the
military and correspond to courses at regular German universities. All
professors at both universities are civilians. The future officers, who
must serve for at least 13 years (15 for pilots), obtain a Bachelor or
Master's degree comparable to the academic degrees granted at the other
universities in Germany. Students at the Federal Armed Forces
Universities need at least four academic years to achieve the Master's
degree. |

HELMUT SCHMIT UNIVERSITY

"HELMUT SCHMIT"
Helmut-Schmidt-Universität |
|
budućih i postojećih oficira. |
Bundeswehra, otuda i njegov izvorni naziv. No, otkako je počela nastava,

The Helmut Schmidt University (Helmut-Schmidt-Universität),
located in Hamburg, Germany, is a German military educational
establishment that was founded in 1973 at the initiative of the
then-Federal Minister of Defence, Helmut Schmidt. Originally known as
the "University of the Bundeswehr Hamburg"
(Universität der Bundeswehr), its complete
official name today is "Helmut-Schmidt-Universität/Universität der
Bundeswehr Hamburg". Teaching first started in Autumn of 1973. It is one
of two universities that were established by the Bundeswehr to train and
educate its future and existing officers. |
In general, it is accessible only to officers and officer candidates of
the Bundeswehr, hence its original name. However, since it started
teaching, there have been cooperation agreements with allied countries,
on the basis of which a handful of selected officers from these states
have been able to study in Hamburg. |

Hochschule der Bundeswehr München |
|
Izvorno nazvana
Hochschule der Bundeswehr München, institucija je trebala ponuditi
civilno akademsko obrazovanje za vojne oficire. Danas sveučilište ima
sve veći broj civilnih i međunarodnih studenata.
trebalo pet godina. |

Bundeswehr University Munich (Universität der
Bundeswehr München, UniBw München) is one of only two federal
research universities in Germany that both
were founded in 1973 as part of the Bundeswehr. Originally called
Hochschule der Bundeswehr München the institution was supposed to offer
civilian academic education for military officers. Today, the university
has an increasing number of civilian and international students. The
academic year at the university is structured in trimesters and not the
usual semesters, to offer intensive studies with
more credit points per year. Very capable students can therefore
achieve a Bachelor's and a Master's degree within less than four years,
while this would usually require five years. |
