Vojne akademije su visokoškolske nastavne i naučnoistraživačke ustanove koje su školovale pitomce sa srednjom vojnom stručnom spremom, organizirale i sprovodile usavršavanje i specijalizaciju oficirskog kadra i razvijale naučnoistraživački rad u oblasti vojnih nauka. U njima se organizirala nastava za sticanje akademskog zvanja - magistara i doktora vojnih nauka. Opći cilj školovanja u vojnim akademijama bio je osposobljavanje pitomaca za dužnosti vojnih starješina - oficira.

     Military academies are high schooling institutions where cadets were schooled to become officers in Yugoslavian armed forces. (Cadets must have finished high military or civilian schools). With that different courses were organized, science and research programs were performed.  Academies also organize schooling for bachelors and doctors degrees. Academies were organized for all branches and specialties of armed forces.

ARMY TEHNICAL ACADEMY     VOJNOTEHNIČKA AKADEMIJA KoV

     This academy served to school officers and other staff with high diplomas for Army technical services. First academy was formed in 1953. Schooling was organized in branches and within them in specialties. After graduation on this university cadets become second lieutenants and get a title of engineers for their specialty. Other schooling activities were post graduated schooling, where finished engineers can get bachelors diploma or doctorate and higher rank, like lieutenant. Army technical military academy was formed from Army high technical school like part of Army technical schooling center. In this Center were Army technical academy, Army technical high school and Army technical reserve officer school. From December 22^nd 1980 carries a new name: Army military technical university where students (cadets) get a title of bachelor, or doctor of technical science and become lieutenants.

ARMY TEHNICAL ACADEMY 1974-1991.  VOJNOTEHNIČKA AKADEMIJA KoV 1974-1991.

      Amblem Vojnotehničke akademije KoV-a je srebreno patiniran, dimenzija 42 x 42 mm. U crveno emajliranom polju je prikazan mač sa sječivom postavljenim nagore, na kojem leži zupčanik u čijoj se unutrašnjosti nalazi simbol elektrotehnike (atom). Iznad zupčanika, na maču se nalazi crveno emajlirana zvijezda petokraka širine 5 mm. Znak akademije je do 1974. bio bez te zvjezdice.

      Silver plated metal, red enameled 42 by 42 millimeters badge was given to finished students of Army military technical academy. Badge is same like those from 1970 -1974, with red five pointed star 5 millimeters in diameter added in the center of the badge.

YNA SUPPLY ACADEMY     INTENDANTSKA AKADEMIJA JNA

JNA SUPPLY ACADEMY 197O-1974/75.  INTENDANTSKA AKADEMIJA JNA 1974-1991.

      Značka Intendantske akademije JNA 1970-1974/75.godine je srebreno patinirana sa crvenim emajlom dimenzija 41 x 41 milimetra. Centralnim djelom polja dominira mač, čije je sječivo u obliku stiliziranog klasa koji "raste" iz zupčanika naslonjenog na dršku mača.

      Silver plated metal, red enameled, dimensions are 41 by 41 millimeter. In center is stylized sword whose blade is in spike of wheat shape growing from cog wheel.

ARMY MILITARY ACADEMY     VOJNA AKADEMIJA KOPNENE VOJSKE

     Army military academy was institution were cadets were schooled for officers duties on platoon, company or battery level. Schooling were four years, and courses were for infantry, artillery, armored units, air defense, engineers, communications, supply, geodetic and nuclear-biological-chemical units. To become a cadet one must have military or civilian high school. Academy was part of Higher military schooling center “Marshal Tito”.  Army military academy was formed on November 22^nd 1944 and was named Military academy of DFY (Democratic Federal Yugoslavia). From 1975 till 1979 academy carries name Military academy of Army and supply branches.

ARMY MILITARY ACADEMY 1970 - 1974. VOJNA AKADEMIJA KOPNENE VOJSKE 1970-1974.

      Značka Vojne akademije Kopnene vojske od 1970 do 1974. godine izrađivana je od metala, srebreno patinirana, crveno emajlirana veličine 41 x 41 mm. U centralnom dijelu znaka predstavljena su najčešća oruđa kopnene vojske: topovska cijev za artiljeriju, tenk za oklopne jedinice i puška, osnovno oružje pješadije. Godine 1970. zlatna značka Akademije KOV-a dodijeljena je vrhovnom komandantu OS SFRJ Josipu Brozu Titu.

      Silver plated metal badge with red enamel, dimensions were 41 mm by 41 mm. Central part is occupied with most common Army symbols: cannon barrel for artillery, tank for armor and rifle for infantry units.  In 1970 academies golden badge was given to Supreme commanding officer off Armed forces Marshal Josip Broz Tito.

ARMY MILITARY ACADEMY 1974 - 1991. VOJNA AKADEMIJA KOPNENE VOJSKE 1974-1991.

      Značka Vojne akademije Kopnene vojske od 1974 do 1991. godine izrađivana je od metala, srebreno patinirana, crveno emajlirana veličine 42 x 42 mm. Po svemu ostalom je ista kao i ona korištena do 1974. kada je dodana zvijezda petokraka promjera 7 milimetara.

      Silver plated metal badge with red enamel, dimensions were 42 millimeters by 42 millimeters. Central part of this badge is same as old one 1970-1974. New element is added to the badge center: red enameled five pointed star 7 millimeters in diameter.

AIR FORCE ACADEMY  VAZDUHOPLOVNA AKADEMIJA RV i PVO

     YNA higher schooling and scientific institution were officers were educated for pilots of airplanes and helicopters and for other officer’s duties within the air Force and armed forces in generally. There were organized highly specialized courses for officers on commanding duties and a lot of scientific work in flying and other fields connected to the Air Force. Most of the cadets come from Air Force high school “Marshal Tito”, and the rest were students from other Air Force military high school and civilian schooling system. Airplane pilots were schooled four years and the rest of students, like helicopter pilots were there for a three years. After graduation officers were getting the ranks of lieutenants, university graduation diploma and become pilots. To achieve that goals AF academy had few centers for theoretical and practical teaching like bomber, helicopter, reserve officers pilots school etc. AF academy was continuing traditions of Air Force school of Yugoslav national-liberation army formed on January 20^th 1944 in Saveletri, near Bary Italy.

AIR FORCE ACADEMY 1974 - 1991. VAZDUHOPLOVNA AKADEMIJA RV i PVO 1974 - 1991.

      Znak Vazduhoplovne akademije Ratnog vazduhoplovstva i protivvazdušne odbrane od 1974. - 1991. godine je srebreno patiniran, plavo emajliran, veličine 42 x 42 milimetra. U centralnom djelu nalazi se znak visine 24 x 30 milimetara, koji predstavlja letački znak pilota Ratnog vazduhoplovstva SFRJ: vijenac od lovorovog lišća na čijem je vrhu emajlirana crvena zvijezda petokraka, preko sredine je orao u letu sa malo povijenim krilima, a ispod orla u dnu vijenca je državni grb.

AIR FORCE TECHNICAL ACADEMY 1970-1974 VAZDUHOPLOVNO TEHNIČKA AKADEMIJA 1970-1974

      Amblem vazduhoplovno tehničke akademije je srebrno patiniran, plavo emajliran, dimenzija 41 x 41 mm. Unutar amblema nalazi se apliciran amblem tehničkog zupčanika, u kojem je stilizirana raketa. Iznad zupčanika je orao u poletu, a nad njim je metalna reljefna zvijezda petokraka. Od 1974. pa do 1991. godine umjesto metalne koristi se crveno obojena zvijezda petokraka. 

      Silver plated, blue enameled badge had dimensions 41 by 41 millimeters. Within the emblem we can see cog-wheel with stylized rocket. On the top is flying eagle under the relief metal five-pointed star. This star was in latter versions (1974-1991) replaced with red painted five-pointed star. 

30 YEARS OF AIR FORCE TECHNICAL ACADEMY  30 GODINA VTVA

      Povodom proslave 30-godišnjice VTA - Rajlovac 1977. godine izrađen je amblem od žutog metala (pozlaćen) oblika štita, visine 45 milimetara i širine 26 milimetara. S lijeve i desne strane štita je metalni rebrasti rub širine 4 milimetra. Iznad je emajlirana jugoslavenska trobojnica, na čijoj se sredini nalazi emajlirana crvena zvijezda petokraka. u centru štita, na azurno plavoj emajliranoj podlozi, aplicirana je malena značka VTA od bijelog metala, veličine 19 x 19 milimetara. ispod nje je latinicom ispisano VTVA (skraćenica za Vazduhoplovna tehnička akademija) i godine 1947 - 1977. 

NAVAL MILITARY ACADEMY     MORNARIČKA VOJNA AKADEMIJA RM

     This high scientific and schooling institution was part of Navy schooling centre. Here cadets (coming from civilian structures) were trained to become Navy or Navy technical officers. Cadets were also schooled for future scientific work in different military science branches. Schooling for Navy officers lasted for four years and was finished with diploma of Navy officer. For Navy technician officers study was five years and diplomas were graduated military electrical engineers, electronic engineers or mechanical engineers. Academy was formed in Split in 1972.

      Značka Mornaričke vojne akademije RM je izrađena od metala, srebreno patinirana, teget plavo emajlirana, dimenzija 41 x 41 milimetar. Na centralnom polju je predstavljeno admiralitetsko sidro.
