Snage
sigurnosti Avijacije Sjedinjenih Država (United States Air Force
Security Forces, SF) kopnene su borbene snage i vojna policija američkih
zračnih snaga i američkih svemirskih snaga. Sigurnosne snage USAF-a (SF)
ranije su bile poznate pod nazivom Vojna policija (MP), Zračna policija
(AP) i Sigurnosna policija (SP) u raznim periodima svoje povijesti. Zbog

The United States Air Force Security Forces (SF) are the ground combat
force and military police service of the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Space
force. USAF Security Forces (SF) were formerly known as Military Police
(MP), Air Police (AP), and Security Police (SP) at various points in its
history. Due to its significant ground combat mission, Security Forces
are often regarded as integral infantry within the Air Force and were
formed on the premise of being the Air Force's "Marine Corps". |

Peta zračna snaga (The Fifth Air
Force (5 AF)) je sastavni dio Pacifičkih zračnih snaga. Komanda je
smještena u Zračnoj bazi Yakota u Japanu. Zadaća ove komande je da
omogući uspješno djelovanje njenih jedinica zraku i svemiru u, na i
oko Japana.
postojanja).
u Japanu. |

The Fifth Air Force (5 AF) is a numbered air force of the USAF Pacific
Air Force (PACAF) It is headquartered at Yokota Air Base, Japan. The
command's mission is to enable fully successful air, space and
cyberspace operations through, from and with Japan. It is one of very
few numbered air forces of the United States Air Force never to have
been based in the United States itself. It is also one of the oldest and
continuously active US air forces. Established on 16 August 1941, 5 AF
was a USAF combat air force in the PAcific Theater of World War II,
engaging in combat operations primarily in the Southwest AOR. In the
postwar era, 5 AF was the primary USAF occupation force in Japan. During
the Korean War, 5 AF was the primary command and control organization
for USAF forces engaged in combat operations over Korea, and during the
Cold War was the main USAF defense force in Japan. |

The 6th Air Force was first constituted as Panama Canal Air Force on
October 19, 1940 and activated on November 20, 1940. Primary
responsibilities included Panama Canal defense. With the end of the
war, most of the wartime Caribbean air bases used for antisubmarine
patrols were returned to civil authorities in late 1945 or early
1946. The Lend-Lease air bases from Great Britain, which were on
99-year leases were reduced to skeleton units and used largely as
MATS weather stations. They were all closed for budgetary reasons in
1949. The postwar Sixth Air Force, redesignated Caribbean Air
Command as part of the 1946 USAAF reorganization, and its successor
units returned to its prewar mission, the defense of the Panama
Canal; support for friendly Latin American air forces, and to
provide support to Latin American nations engaged in anti-communist
activities during the Cold War. |

The Eleventh Air Force (11 AF) is a a numbered air force of the USAF
Pacific Air Forces (PACAF). It is headquartered at Elmendorf AF Base,
Alaska. 11 AF plans, conducts, controls and coordinates air operations
in accordance with the tasks assigned by the commander, Pacific Air
Forces and other unified commanders. Was established on 28 December 1941
as the Alaskan Air. 11 AF was a USAF combat air force in the American
Theater of WWII, providing air defense of Alaska and engaging in combat
operations primarily in the Aleutian Islands and Northern Pacific during
the Aleutian Campaign. Re-designated as Alaskan Air Command in late
1945, the organization became responsible for the atmospheric defense of
Alaska during the Cold war. With the collapse of the Soviet Union, the
organization was realigned under PACAF in 1990 and returned to its
previous Numbered Air Force command echelon. |

WILD WEASEL
DIVLJA LASICA |
|
neprijateljske protuavionske obrane (SEAD): uništavanje radara i
zemlja-zrak raketnih (SAM) instalacije neprijateljskih protuavionskih
obrambenih sistema.
|
|
|
 |
|
|
|
|
|
Wild Weasel is a code name given by the United States Air Force (USAF)
to an aircraft of any type equipped with anti-radiation missiles and
tasked with the suppression of enemy air defenses (SEAD): destroying the
radar and surface-to-air missile (SAM) installations of enemy air
defense systems. The task of a Wild Weasel aircraft is to bait enemy
anti-aircraft defenses into targeting it with their radars, whereupon
the radar waves are traced back to their source, allowing the Weasel or
its teammates to precisely target it for destruction. |

A-10 |
|
Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II je podzvučni jurišni avion s
jednim sjedalom, dvostrukim turboventilatorom, ravnim krilom i razvijen
prijateljskim kopnenim trupama napadajući oklopna vozila, tenkove i
mete na zemlji, uloga koja se naziva prednji avio kontrolor-u zraku;

The Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II is a single-seat, twin-turbofan,
straight-wing, subsonic attack aircraft developed by Fairchild Republic
for the United States Air Force (USAF). In service since 1976, it is
named for the Republic P-47 Thunderbolt, but is commonly referred to as
the "Warthog" or simply "Hog". The A-10 was designed to provide close
air support (CAS) to friendly ground troops by attacking armored
vehicles, tanks, and other enemy ground forces; it is the only
production-built aircraft designed solely for CAS to have served with
the U.S. Air Force. Its secondary mission is to direct other aircraft in
attacks on ground targets, a role called forward air controller-airborne;
aircraft used primarily in this role are designated OA-10. |

lovačko krilo aktivirano (81st
Tactical Fighter Wing, Detachment 1, Sembach AB, Germany).
Jever i vojno uzletište Wiesbaden.
i taktičke procjene. Završetkom Hladnog rata, prisutnost USAF-a u
Bentwatersu postupno je smanjena. Počelo se sa pripremama za zatvaranje
baze u početkom 1992., završne letne operacije su bile 01. 04. 1993.
Posljednji avion A-10 poletio je iz Bentwatersa 23. 03. 1993., a 81.

An A-10 forward operating location was established at Sembach Air Base
West Germany on 1 September 1978 when Detachment 1, 81st Tactical
Fighter Wing was activated. Revetments and a dozen hardened aircraft
shelters were built and A-10A Single-seat began operations at Sembach
during May 1979. Additional detachments were subsequently established at
Leipheim, Ahlhorn and Norvenich Air Bases and at two rear-ward Forward
Operating Locations which remain classified to this day, in West Germany,
believed to be Jever air base and Wiesbaden Army airfield. A-10s and
support resources routinely rotated to these Forward Operating Locations
from RAF Bentwaters for training and Tactical Evaluations. With the end
of the Cold War, the USAF presence at Bentwaters was gradually phased
down. Preparation for base closure began in December 1992, ending flying
operations on 1 April 1993. The last A-10 aircraft departed Bentwaters
on 23 March 1993, and the 81st Tactical Fighter Wing was inactivated on
1 July 1993. |

*Imao
*Wing
is a term used by different military aviation forces for a unit of
command. The terms wing and group are used for different-sized units
from one country or service to another. Most other Western air forces
tend to follow the US nomenclature, insofar as having squadrons coming
directly under groups. Immediately above this however, some air forces
have foreign terms which are equivalent to a US "wing". For example:
Geschwader in the German Luftwaffe; Polk in Russia; Stormo in Italy. |
