      Misija Grčke avijacije (HAF; Πολεμική Αεροπορία, Polemikí Aeroporía, doslovno prevedeno "Ratna Avijacija", skraćenica ΠΑ) je čuvanje i zaštita grčkog zračnog prostora, pružanje pomoći i podrške kopnenim snagama i mornarici, kao i pružanje humanitarne pomoći u Grčkoj i svijetu. Brojno stanje je oko 33.000 pripadnika, od kojih su 11.750 profesinalni oficiri, 14.000 profesionani vojnici, 7.250 dobrovoljni vojnici. Od cijelog broja pripadnika 1.100 su žene. U doba monarhije (1935-1973) naziv im je bio Kraljevska Grčka Avijacija (Έλληνική Βασιλική Άεροπορία, Ellinikí Vasilikí Aeroporía). Moto grčke avijacije je preuzeta izreka antičkih Grka „Uvijek dominiraj visinama“ (Αίέν Υψικρατεiν Aièn Hypsikrateîn).

      The Hellenic Air Force (HAF; Πολεμική Αεροπορία, Polemikí Aeroporía, literally "War Aviation", sometimes abbreviated as ΠΑ) mission is to guard and protect Greek airspace, provide air assistance and support to the Hellenic Army and the Hellenic Navy, as well as the provision of humanitarian aid in Greece and around the world. The Hellenic Air Force includes approximately 33,000 active troops, of whom 11,750 are career officers, 14,000 are professional conscripts (ΕΠ.ΟΠ.), 7,250 are volunteer conscripts and 1,100 are women. During the period of monarchy between 1935–1973 the force was known as the Royal Hellenic Air Force (RHAF) (Ἑλληνικὴ Βασιλικὴ Ἀεροπορία, Ellinikí Vasilikí Aeroporía). The motto of the Hellenic Air Force is the ancient Greek phrase Αἰὲν Ὑψικρατεῖν (Aièn Hypsikrateîn), "Always Dominate the Heights").

AIR FORCE ACADEMY    AKADEMIJA RATNE AVIJACIJE

      Eskadrila je formirana u devetom mjesecu 1963. godine, kao dio 112. borbene eskadrile (112CW) sa T-37 B/C kao 360. jedinica za obuku. 1971. godine su premješteni na aerodrom Kalamata, gje ih 1974. godine preimenovani u 361 osnovna trening eskadrila. Ljeti 2000. avioni T37 B/C su zamijenjeni sa T-6A TEXAN. Od 06. 2006. godine oper mijenjaju ime, ovaj put u 361. avio eskadrila za obuku. Na oznaci eskadrile je lik Ikara koji predstavlja buduće pilote. Ikar sibolizira njihovu snagu i hrabrost.

     The squadron was formed in September 1963 at the 112 Combat Wing (112 CW) with T-37 B/Cs as the 360 Jet Training Squadron (JTS). In 1971 it was relocated to Kalamata airport and in 1974 was renamed to 361 Basic Training Squadron. In summer 2000 the T-37 B/C airplanes were replaced by the T-6A TEXAN. Since March 2006 the squadron is named 361 Air Training Squadron. Unit insignia depict Icarus who representing the new trainee, who is distinguished for his courage and energy.

T-41    T-41

      T-41 je jednomotorni, propelerni avion Grčke ratne aijacije koji služi za početnu obuku novih pilota. U službi su decenijama, prvi je takav avion izgrađen sredinom 60-tih u SAD-u i izrađuju se do danas, što je dokaz njihove pouzdanosti. Obojeni su u crvenosivu kamuflažu.

      The T-41 is a single-engine, propeller aircraft of the Hellenic Air Force for the initial training of the new pilots. It has been in service for decades now and it is used at the initial stage training of young pilots. The first aircraft were built in the mid-60s in the United States and their continuous production to this day is a testimony to their reliability. They wear red and gray camouflage.

346th SQUADRON "JASON"     346. ESKADRILA "JASON"

      346. eskadrila „Jason“ (346 Mira "Jason (Iason)" HAF) nazvana po grčkom mitskom junaku,  je bila druga eskadrila koja je nabavila borbene avione F-16C/D Block 30. Dana 05. 02. 1990. godine, u bazi Néa Anghialos, uspostavlja se ova eskadrila kao dio 111. borbene grupe, čiju su osnovu činili piloti i tehničari 330. eskadrile. Oko godinu dana su djelovali kao eskadrila za obuku pilota na F-16 C/D Block 30 . Službeni znak ove eskadrile prikazuje orla koji štiti triremu (brod) Jasonovih Argonauta koji plovi prema zmaju. 346. Eskadrila je raspuštena 02. 09. 2011. godine.

      The 346 Squadron (346 Mira "Jason (Iason)" HAF) is the second squadron that acquired the F-16C/D Block 30 combat aircraft. On the 5th of February 1990, it was activated in Néa Anghialos at 111 Combat Wing and its core was formed by the pilots and technicians of the 330 Squadron. For about a year, it operated as a training Squadron for the pilots due to man the F-16 C/D Block 30 aircraft. On official squadron insignia is an eagle who protects the triremes of the Argonauts' expedition while it sails towards the dragon. The 346 Squadron  was disbanded on September 2nd, 2011.

31st SEARCH & RESCUE SQUADRON "ACHILLES"     31. ESKADRILA ZA POTRAGE I SPAŠAVANJA "AHILEJ"

      31. odjel potrage i spašavanja, osnovan 1998. godine, dio je 112. borbene eskadrile iz Avio baze Elfesina. Misija ove jedinice je uspješno izvođenje operacija traganja i spašavanja, izvođenje operacija u borbenim zonama kao i izvršavanje ostalih specijaliziranih operacija po zahtjevima komande Helenske ratne avijacije.

      31st Search & Rescue Operations Squadron, established in 1998  is part of 112 Combat Wing from Elefsina Air Base. The 31st Squadron’s mission is to successfully carry out Search and Rescue operations, battleground SAR operations and specialized operations whenever required, according to HAF’s leadership commands.

      Moto jedinice je preuzet od Aristotela „Vrline su za drske i hrabre“ (“Tων δ’ επιλέκτων η Αρετή”). To je kraj Aristotelove rečenice „Zadovoljstvo je cilj većine, slava onih istaknutih a vrlina izvanrednih“. Na oznaci jedinice je ahilejev štit, Zeusov orao predstavlja snagu i superiornost te tako predstavlja simbol i podršku prve pomoći. Slovo „A“ dolazi od imena Ahilej (Achilles) i pozivni je znak jedinice, dok munja predstavlja telekomunikacije i brzinu reakcije.

      Unit motto:  “Tων δ’ επιλέκτων η Αρετή” (Virtue is for the bold and brave) (Aristotle). Last words of Aristotle in the phrase: “Pleasure is the aim of the majority, glory the aim of the distinctive and virtue the aim of the remarkable”. On the Squadron’s emblem is the Achilles’ shield, the Zeus eagle which is a strength and superiority symbol and represents the air rescue operations, and the snake which as a revival symbol refers to first aid support. The «Α» comes from the name «Achilles» and is the call-sign in peacetime, while the thunder represents the telecommunication and the reaction rate.

3rd AREA CONTROL CENTER (3rd ACC)    KONTROLNI CENTAR 3. ZONE

      Misija Kontrolnog centra 3. zone (3rd Area Control Center) je održavanje visokog nivoa efektivnoasti i spremnosti, da održi neprekinuti tok avio operacija važnih za odbranu zemlje, da pomažu u vanrednim situacijama, asistiraju u avio operacijama itd. Kontrolni centar 3. zone je smješten na Zirosu, u općini Lasithi na Kreti, na visini odd 2634 stope. Baza je osnovana 1963 godine. Podređena je Taktičkim avio snagama grčke avijacije. Na nivou NATO-a su podređeni Alijansinoj avio komandi u Ramsteinu. Na oznaci je grifon, simbol iz Minoanske kulture, koji u sebi sadrži snagu i moć na zemlji i nebu. Moto „Nikad ne podleći nedaćama“ su riječi iz stihova u Eshilovoj tragediji o Prometeju, koja ističe da Prometej, kao i Grci nikada neće pokleknuti.

      The 3rd Area Control Center’s mission is to maintain a high level of effectiveness and readiness, to preserve the uninterrupted transmission of air traffic activity for the country’s proper Air Defense mechanism, to successfully assist with aircraft operations and to assist in emergency situations, according to the plan set forth, whenever it is required. The 3rd ACC is located at Ziros at the Municipality of Lasithi, Crete and at an altitude of 2634 feet. Was established in 1963. Domestically, the unit is a subordinate of the Hellenic Tactical Air Force. At a NATO level, the unit is a subordinate of the Αllied Air Command (Ramstein) through the CAOC TJ. Griffin a symbol of the Mynoan time period implies the strength and power over the sky and the land. «Never Yield to Adversities» Aeschylus, in his verses of the «Prometheus Bound» tragedy, he highlights that Prometheus and thus, Greece would never yield.

GUARD DOG TRAINNING CENTRE    CENTAR ZA OBUKU PASA ČUVARA

      Centar za obuku pasa čuvara, osnovan 1989. godine, podređen je Grčkoj komandi za obuku. Zadaća im je omogućiti teoretske i praktične treninge podoficira Grčke avijacije i ostalih grana Oružanih snaga. Istovremeno se provodi i obuka pasa koji će se koristiti u zaštiti vojnih objekata. U Centru se provodi i osnovna i napredna veterinarska briga za pse koje koriste Avijacija, Kopnena vojska, Obalna straža, Policija i Ministarstvo financija.

      The Guard Dog Training Center established in 1989 located in Koropi, is subordinate to the Hellenic Air Training Command. The Guard Training Center’s mission is to provide theoretical and practical training to NCO’s of the Hellenic Air Force or other Branches of Armed Forces in the duties of Guards and Military Dog Trainers with parallel training provided to Military Dogs, in order to be used for the improvement of the security of Air Bases, Military Areas and generally Military facilities and means. In addition, it is responsible for providing primary and secondary veterinary care to the Military Dogs of the Hellenic Air Force Units, as well as to the Dogs of the Fire and Coast Guard, the Greek Police and the Ministry of Finance.

      Moto Centra za obuku pasa čuvara je ispisan na njihovom znaku i prevedn glasi: „Kada se moraš suočiti sa neprijateljem, morate ga pobijediti na bilo koji način (Χρή δε πάν έρδοντα μαυρώσαι τον εχθρόν).

      Unit motto written on Guard Dog Training Center “Χρή δε πάν έρδοντα μαυρώσαι τον εχθρόν” means: "When you have to face your enemy, you have to beat him by whatever means2.

IRIS AIR-TO-AIR MISSILE    IRIS ZRAK-ZRAK RAKETA

      Iris-T „infracrvena“ zrak-zrak raketa (Infra Red Imaging System Tail/Thrust Vector-Controlled) je program razvoja i izrade rakete krtakog dometa pod njemačkim vodstvom. 1995. godine Njemačka je najavila razvojni program u suradnji sa Grčkom, Italijom, Norveškom, Švedskom i Kanadom. Kasnije je Kanada izašla iz programa, dok se 2003. godine pridružuje Španjolska. Njemačke avio-snage su prve rakete dobile 05. 12. 2005. „Dioba“ izrade rakete u postocima iznosi: Njemačka 46%, Italija 19%, Švedska 18%, Grčka 13% i 4% podjeljeno između Norveške i Kanade.

      The IRIS-T (Infra Red Imaging System Tail/Thrust Vector-Controlled) is a Geramn-led program to develop a short-range infrared homing air-to-air missile. In 1995, Germany announced the IRIS-T development program, in collaboration with Greece, Italy, Norway, Sweden and Canada. Canada later dropped out, while in 2003 Spain joined as a partner for procurement. The German Air Force took first delivery of the missile on 5 December 2005. Workshare arrangements for IRIS-T development are: Germany 46%, Italy 19%, Sweden 18%, Greece 13% and 4% split between Canada and Norway.
