32nd MARINE BRIGADE  32. MARINSKA BRIGADA

      32. brigada marinaca  „Moravas“ (32 ΤΑΞ ΠΝ - 32η Ταξιαρχία Πεζοναυτών Mοράβας), 32 TAX PN - 32 Taxiarhia Pezonavton "Moravas“) je za razliku od ostalih zemalja svijeta, gdje su marinci u sastavu mornarice, dio Kopnene vojske. Svejedno, desantne čamce i ostalu mornaričku operemu im osigurava Grčka mornarica. Štab je smješten u gradu Volosu, u Tesaliji, a zadaća jedinice su pješadijske i amfibijske operacije na brojnim grčkim otocima i na obali.

      The 32nd Marines Brigade (32 ΤΑΞ ΠΝ - 32η Ταξιαρχία Πεζοναυτών Mοράβας), 32 TAX PN - 32 Taxiarhia Pezonavton "Moravas", is the Marines unit of Greece. The brigade is based at the port town of Volos in Thessaly, and its primary role is infantry and amphibious operations on the numerous islands off the Greek coast. Unlike other countries, the Greek Marines form part of the Army, while the landing craft and naval equipment are provided by the hellenic Navy.

      Na oznaci jedinice je Argo, brod kojim su Jason i Argonauti išli u potragu za Zlatnim runom, što predstavlja prvu zabilježenu grčku mornaričku ekspediciju. Štab brigade je smješten u Volosu, koji se nalazi u blizini mjesta Iolocos, odakle su Argonauti krenuli u misiju. Iznad oznake je traka „banana“ sa natpisom ΔΥΝΑΜΕΙΣ ΠΕΖΟΝΑΥΤΩΝ (marinci). Moto jedinice „Hrabrost je potrebna“ (ΘΑΡΣΕΙΝ ΧΡΗ - Tharsein Hri), izjava koja se pripisuje božici Ateni, izrečenu kroz Odisejeva usta, kao riječi ohrabrenja Grčkim snagama u opsadi Troje.

      The unit insignia depicts the Argo, the ship of  Jason and the Argonauts, and is representative of the first recorded Greek marine expedition. Brigade HQ is based at Volos, near the ancient Thessalian port city of Iolocos, from where the Argonauts embarked on their mission to retrieve the Golden Fleece. The unit flash is emblazoned with ΔΥΝΑΜΕΙΣ ΠΕΖΟΝΑΥΤΩΝ (Marine Forces). The unit motto is „Courage Is Necessary“ (ΘΑΡΣΕΙΝ ΧΡΗ - Tharsein Hri), attributed to the Goddess Athena, through the mouth of Odysseus, as words of encouragement to the Greek forces besieging the city of Troy.

GUARD DOG TRAINNING CENTRE    CENTAR ZA OBUKU PASA ČUVARA

      Centar za obuku pasa čuvara, osnovan 1989. godine, podređen je Grčkoj komandi za obuku. Zadaća im je omogućiti teoretske i praktične treninge podoficira Grčke avijacije i ostalih grana Oružanih snaga. Istovremeno se provodi i obuka pasa koji će se koristiti u zaštiti vojnih objekata. U Centru se provodi i osnovna i napredna veterinarska briga za pse koje koriste Avijacija, Kopnena vojska, Obalna straža, Policija i Ministarstvo financija.

      The Guard Dog Training Center established in 1989 located in Koropi, is subordinate to the Hellenic Air Training Command. The Guard Training Center’s mission is to provide theoretical and practical training to NCO’s of the Hellenic Air Force or other Branches of Armed Forces in the duties of Guards and Military Dog Trainers with parallel training provided to Military Dogs, in order to be used for the improvement of the security of Air Bases, Military Areas and generally Military facilities and means. In addition, it is responsible for providing primary and secondary veterinary care to the Military Dogs of the Hellenic Air Force Units, as well as to the Dogs of the Fire and Coast Guard, the Greek Police and the Ministry of Finance.

      Moto Centra za obuku pasa čuvara je ispisan na njihovom znaku i prevedn glasi: „Kada se moraš suočiti sa neprijateljem, morate ga pobijediti ilo koji način (Χρή δε πάν έρδοντα μαυρώσαι τον εχθρόν).

      Unit motto written on Guard Dog Training Center “Χρή δε πάν έρδοντα μαυρώσαι τον εχθρόν” means: "When you have to face your enemy, you have to beat him by whatever means2.

4th ARMY CORPS  4. KORPUS KOPNENE VOJSKE

      4. armijski korpus nastao je 1914. godine u Kavali, Istočna Makedonija i bori se protiv Bugara i Nijemaca u Prvom svjetskom ratu. Kao "gosti" Nijemaca provode skoro tri godine u Njemačkoj. U grčko-turskom ratu su preimenovani u Trakijsku armiju i nakon poraza 1922. štite povlačenje grčkih snaga iz Male Azije. Ponovo su preimenovani tokom 1940. u Armijsku grupu Istočna Makedonija i ratuju u Albaniji protiv Talijana. 1976. nakon reformiranja korpus se seli u Ksanti i postaje najjača jedinica grčke vojske. Moto korpusa: "Presjeci čvor" (aluzija na Gordijski čvor) Τώ ξιφεί τόν δεσμό λελύσθαι.

      Na plavom štitu koji simbolizira grčko nebo i more, postavljene su dvije kacige i mač, kao najreprezentativniji dijelovi vojne uniforme ratnika Aleksandra Makedonskog. Ručka mača položena je na svijetli disk izlazećeg sunca, okruženog dugom. Kombinacija duge (simbol mira, optimizma i nade) i drška mača na izlazećem suncu, simbolizira svrhu kampanje Aleksandra Makedonskog na širenje grčke kulture i civilizacije na Istok.

      The IV Army Corps was established in December, 1914 at Kavala , East Macedonia and took part in the operations against the Germans and the Bulgarians during WWI than the whole corps was carried by rail to  Görlitz, Germany as "guests" of the German Government. They spent almost three years there. At the Greco-Turkish War it was renamed Thracian Army and was stationed in Adrianapole.  At 1922, after the defeat of the Hellenic forces in Asia Minor it covered the withdrawn of many units to Thrace. In November, 1940 during the Greco-Italian war it was renamed again as East Macedonia Army Group (ΤΣΑΜ) joining the 1st Army which was fighting in Albania. In 1976 the Corps was reformed in Xsanthi and currently is the most powerful section of the Hellenic Army. The corps motto is Τώ ξιφεί τόν δεσμό λελύσθαι - Solve the knot with the sword.

12th MECHANIZED INFANTRY DIVISION  12. PJEŠADIJSKA MEHANIZIRANA DIVIZIJA

      12. pješadijska mehanizirana divizija „Evros“ (ΧΙΙ Μηχανοκίνητη Μεραρχία Πεζικού «ΕΒΡΟΣ») je vojna formacija Grčke kopnene vojske iz sastava IV korpusa. Diviziji je sjedište u Aleksandropoliu u Tarkiji. Na znaku su prikazana dva sukobljena pijetla. Tom prikazu i motu jedinice „Dok jedan ne padne“ ("Έως αν τον ετέρον προπεσείν") inspiracija su riječi povjesničara Polibija, kojima je opisao Rimljane i Kartažane za vrijeme Prvog punskog rata.

      The 12th Mechanized Infantry Division "Evros" (ΧΙΙ Μηχανοκίνητη Μεραρχία Πεζικού «ΕΒΡΟΣ») is a military formation of the Hellenic Army, based at Alexandroupoli, Tharace. The division's emblem depicts two roosters confronting each other. It and the divisional motto, "Έως αν τον ετέρον προπεσείν" ("Until one of them falls") are inspired by a quote of the historian Polybuis, describing the Romans and Carthaginians during the First Punic War.

20th ARMORED DIVISION  20. OKLOPNA DIVIZIJA

25th ARMORED BRIGADE  25 OKLOPNA BRIGADA

      25 oklopna brigada (2. konjička regimenta Efez) je dio 20. Oklopne divizije (grčki Τεθωρακισμένη Μεραρχία, skraćeno XX ΤΘΜ) koja je jedina oklopna divizija Grčke vojske i čija je komada smještena u Kavali, Makedonija. Sama brigada ima pet bataljona i nekoliko satnija (četa): štabnu četu, 22 oklopni bataljon, 25. oklopni bataljon, 645. mehanizirani pješadijski bataljon, 139. samohodni artiljerijski bataljon, 25. inžinjerijska četa, četa veze i 25. bataljon potpore. Moto brigade je: "Poginuti za domovinu".

     25th Armored Brigade "2nd Cavalry Regiment Ephesus" is part of XX Armored Division and have 5 battalions: HQ Company (ΙΣΤ), 22 Armored Battalion (22 EMA), 25 Armored Battalion (25 EMA), 645 Mechanized Infantry Battalion (645 M/K ΤΠ), 139 Self Propelled Artillery Battalion (139 Μ Α/K ΠΒ), 25 Engineer Company (25 ΛΜΧ), 25 Signal Company (25 ΛΔΒ), 25 Support Battalion (25 TYΠ). Brigade is situated in Ksanthi, Thrace. Brigades motto is: “Die over your country”. The Twentieth Armored Division (XX Τεθωρακισμένη Μεραρχία XX Tethorakismeni Merarchia, XX ΤΘΜ for short) is the only armored division of the Hellenic Army. It is headquartered in Kavala, Macedonia.

ANTI-AIRCRAFT ARTILLERY    PROTIVAVIONSKE ARTILJERIJSKE JEDINICE

      Greek anti aircraft breast badge was used by anti-aircraft artillery personnel of all defence branches. Not in use anymore. There are also a cloth versions for use on working uniforms.
