Oružane snage Slovačke Republike broje 14.000 uniformiranih pripadnika.
Slovačka je članica NATO-a od 2004. godine. Reformom iz 2006. godine
Slovačka napušta redovno služenje vojnog roka i prelazi na potpuno
profesionalnu vojsku. Oružane snage se sastoje od Kopnene vojske
(sastavljene od dvije mehanizirane brigade), Zrakoplovstva i
Protivzrakoplovne obrane (eskadrile avijacije, helikopterske eskadrile i
SAM brigade), Snaga za obuku i potporu, Nacionalne snage za potporu
(višenamjenski bataljon, transportni bataljon i bataljon održavanja),
Garnizona grada Bratislave (ujedno i obučni bataljon) te nekoliko
različitih logističkih i komunikacijskih jedinica i baza. 5. Specijalna
regimenta je pod direktnom komandom General štaba, (ali „radi“ za
Operacioni izviđački ured). |
The Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic number 14,000 uniformed
personnel. Slovakia joined NATO in March 2004. From 2006 the army
transformed into a fully professional organization and compulsory
military service was abolished. Armed forces structure consist from:
Ground Forces (made up of two active mechnized infantry brigades); Air
and Air defense Forces (one wing of fighters, one wing of attack and
utility helicopters, and one SAM brigade); Training and Support Forces:
National Support Element (Multifunctional Battalion, Transport
Battalion, Repair Battalion), Garrison of capital city Bratislava, as
well as Training Battalion, and various logistics and communication and
information bases. The 5th Special Forces Regiment is under the direct
command of the General Staff (It is Slovakia's premier
Counter-Terrorism and special operations unit. The unit is directly
attached to the Armed Forces General Staff, but works for the
Operational Reconnaissance Bureau). |
