Kuna
3. gardijska brigada. Njihovu tradiciju pronosi današnja Tenkovska bojna
Kune, Gardijske oklopno-mehanizirane brigade Hrvatske kopnene vojske. |

The kuna was chosen as a symbol of the unit according to the historical
coat of arms of the Kingdom of Slavonia, which was King Vladislav II.
Jagelović granted to the Slavonian nobility on December 8, 1496, and the
symbol of the kuna appears even earlier on the coins of the Banovci from
the XIII. century. This symbol soon became the nickname of this unit,
which was kept and celebrated by the later 3rd Guards Brigade. Their
tradition is carried by today's Kuna Tank Battalion, Guards Armored and
Mechanized Brigade of the Croatian Army. |
