Vojni službenik u JNA je kategorija vojnih lica, koja obavljaju određene dužnosti za koje nije neophodna i određena stručna vojna sprema. Za razliku od oficira i mlađih oficira ne obavljaju komandne dužnosti. Po stupnju straješinstva razvrstani su u devet klasa. Uniforma VS odgovara oficirskoj, s tim da su im oznake čina srebrene boje. Kategorija VS se od 1974. godine ne zanavlja, osim u muzičkoj službi, a dužnosti u drugim službama koje su ranije bile predviđene za vojne službenike, zavisno od karaktera i potrebne spreme, popunjavaju se drugim kategorijama aktivnih vojnih lica ili građanskih lica na službi u JNA.

      A civil servant in the JNA is a category of military personnel, who perform certain duties for which a certain military training is not necessary. Unlike officers and junior officers, they do not perform command duties. They are divided into nine classes according to the degree of eldership. The uniform of the Armed Forces corresponds to the officer's, with the rank insignia of silver. The VS category has not been renewed since 1974, except in the music service, and duties in other services that were previously provided for military officers, depending on the character and required training, are filled by other categories of active military personnel or civilians serving in the JNA.

      Oznake klasa vojnih službenika su po obliku i načinu označavanja iste kao i oznake odgovarajućih činova mlađih oficira i oficira, s tim što su širiti srebrnobijele boje, a umjesto zvjezdica - rozete srebrenobijele iste veličine. Dugmad na naramenicama bluze i šinjela vojnih službenika su srebreno bijele boje.

      Klase vojnih službenika u JNA stupnjevi su starješinstva u kategoriji vojnih službenika. Uvedene su 1954. godine umjesto rangova. Tada su vojni službenici razvrstani u dvanaest, a od 1964. godine u devet klasa. Obilježavaju se rimskim brojevima IX do I. U pogledu starješinstva klase vojnih službenika odgovaraju činovima mlađih oficira i oficira. Činovima mlađih oficira – starijeg vodnika I. klase i zastavnika odgovara IX i VIII klasa, a činovima oficira – potporučnika, poručnika, kapetana, kapetana I. klase, majora, potpukovnika i pukovnika odgovara – VII, VI, V, IV, III, II i I klasa.

      Classes of civilian servants in the JNA are degrees of seniority in the category of military officers. They were introduced in 1954 instead of ranks. At that time, civilian servants were divided into twelve, and since 1964 into nine classes. They are marked with Roman numerals IX to I. In terms of seniority, the classes of civilian servants correspond to the ranks of junior officers and officers. COLLAR INSIGNIAS   OZNAKE SA REVERA

      Mlađi oficiri, oficiri do čina pukovnika i vojni službenici KoV i RV i PVO na uglovima okovratnika bluze službene uniforme svakodnevne i službene uniforme za stroj nose oznake roda odnosno službe. Oznaka roda odnosno službe nose i mlađi oficiri, oficiri do čina potpukovnika i vojni službenici IX do II klase i na uglovima okovratnika prazničnih i svečanih bluza, ukoliko se nose svečane uniforme iz t. 84. ovog pravila. Oznake su metalne ili vezene, za mlađe oficire i oficire zlatnožute boje, a za vojne službenike - srebrenobijele boje. Oznake se pričvršćuju ili vezu na romboidnu podlogu od iste tkanine kao i bluza, veličine 42 x 32 mm. Podloga je oivičena gajtanom debljine 2 mm, za mlađe oficire i oficire zlatnožute, a za vojne službenike - srebrenobijele.

      Junior officers, officers up to the rank of colonel and civilian servants of the Armed and the Air Defense shall wear gender and service badges on the corners of the collar of the blouse of the official uniform and the parade uniform. The designation of gender or service is also worn by junior officers, officers up to the rank of lieutenant colonel and military officers of IX to II class and on the corners of the collars of festive and ceremonial blouses, if ceremonial uniforms from t. 84 of this rule. The insignia are metal or embroidered, for junior officers and officers golden yellow, and for civilian servants - silver white. The insignias are attached or tied to a rhomboid base of the same fabric as the blouse, measuring 42 x 32 mm. The base is bordered with a 2 mm thick cord, for junior officers and officers golden yellow, and for civilian servants - silver white.

      Pripadnici vojnih orkestara KoV, RV i PVO i Umjetničkog ansambla JNA i dirigenti vojnih orkestara i ansambala, osim u RM, na bluzi nastupne i svečane-nastupne uniforme nose:
