      Baltimorska policija (The Baltimore Police Department BPD) pruža policijske usluge gradu Baltimoru. To je osma po veličini policijska služba u SAD-u. Organizirani su u deset distrikta, devet geografskig i jedan specijalizirani (Public Housing Section). Nadležni su za 210 kvadratnih kilometara zemljišta i 29 kvadratnih kilometara wodenih površina. Ponekad se nazivaju i Policija grada Baltimora (Baltimore City Police Department) da bi se razlikovali od Policije okruga Baltimor (the Baltimore County Police Department).

      The Baltimore Police Department (BPD) provides police services to the city of Baltimore, Maryland. It is the eighth-largest police force in the United States and is organized into ten districts; nine geographical and the Public Housing Section. It polices 80.9 square miles (210 km²) of land and 11.1 square miles (29 km²) of waterways. The department is sometimes referred to as the Baltimore City Police Department to distinguish it from the Baltimore County Police Department.

      Štit na oznakama (značka i oznaka za rukav) je grb države Maryland koji je uveden u ranim danima kolonije, a potiče iz Engleske. Štit ili grb sadrži grbove familija Calvert i Crossland. Znak je usvojio drugi Lord Baltimora (Cecilus Calvert) i to da je zlatno-crni grb Calverta postavio u gornju lijevu i donju desnu četvrtinu, a grb familije Crossland u donju lijevu i gornju desnu četvrtinu grba.       The shield on the patch (and badge) is the Great Seal of Maryland which was brought over from England during the early days of the colony. The shield, or escutcheon, bears the Calvert and Crossland arms quartered. The second Lord Baltimore (Cecilus Calvert) adopted this design with the gold and black of the Calverts in the upper left and lower right quarters, and the red and white crosses of the Crossland family (the second Lord Baltimore's maternal forebearers) in the lower left and upper right quarters. Superimposed on the shield is the Battle Monument of Baltimore which is the City's official insignia and commemorates the successful defense of Baltimore from attack by British Forces in 1814.

      Predsjednik Ford je 04. 06. 1976.godine potpisao Zakon, predložen od strane Kongresa, o uspostavi Metropolitanske prometne policije (the Metro Transit Police Department MTPD). Oni su jedina policijska agencija koja ima pune ovlasti za provođenje zakona unutar tri različite jurisdikcije: Maryland-a, Virginie i Distrikta Columbia. Imaju 490 policajaca, 64 pripadnika specijalne zaštitne policije te 91 civilnog službenika.  Policajci MTPD-a su zaduženi za provođenje cijele palete zakona na prometnicama u široj okolini Washingtona, što uključuje podzemnu željeznicu i sve vrste javnog autobusnog prevoza.

      On June 4, 1976, President Ford signed into law a bill passed by Congress authorizing the establishment of the Metro Transit Police Department (MTPD). MTPD police officers have tri-state jurisdiction with responsibility for a variety of law enforcement and public safety functions in transit facilities throughout the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. The MTPD is unique in U.S. law enforcement as it is the only U.S. police agency that has full local police authority in three different jurisdictions: Maryland, Virginia, and District of Columbia.  MTPD has an authorized strength of 490 sworn police officers, 64 security special police, and 91 civilian personnel. Officers provide a variety of law enforcement and public safety services on the Metrorail and Metrobus systems in the Washington Metropolitan Area.
