      Državna policija Kentakija (The Kentucky State Police KSP) je dio Kabineta pravde i javne sigurnosti Kentakija i službena je policija Komonvelta Kentaky (the Commonwealth of Kentucky), zadužena za provođenje zakona diljem države. Osnovani su 1948. godine, kada zu zamjenili državnu prometnu policiju (Kentucky Highway Patrol). Policajci državne policije imaju naziv State Troopers, a oslovljava ih se sa Trooper, dok su pripadnici drugih policijskih odjela službenici (Officers). Nadimak im je „Tanka siva linija“. Državna policija kentakija je podjeljena u tri odvojena odjela: Administrativni odjel, Operativni odjel te Odjel tehničke podrške.

      The Kentucky State Police (KSP) is a department of the Kentucky Justice and Public Safety Cabinet, and the official State Police force of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, responsible for statewide law enforcement. The department was founded in 1948 and replaced the Kentucky Highway Patrol. The department's sworn personnel hold the title State Troopers and are addressed as Trooper (with the exception of sworn Commercial Vehicle Enforcement and Facilities Security Branch personnel, both of which hold the title and are addressed as Officer) and its nickname is The Thin Gray Line.  The Kentucky State Police is organized into three separate divisions; The Administrative Division, the Operations Division and the Technical Service Division.

      U Kentakiju, constables (redari) su izabrani službenici sudskih odjela. U svakom okrugu postoji između tri i osam distrikta. Po članu 101. Ustava Kentakija redari imaju istu jurisdikciju kao i okružni šerifi. Prije '70-tih glavna im je zadaća bila osiguravanje sudova i izvršavanje nekih sudskih naloga, ali je reformom sudstva njihovo postojanje redefinirano. Smanjene su im ovlasti, ali još uvjek imaju pravo vršiti hapšenja, izvršavati sudske odluke te provoditi ostale odluke sudova. Njihova vozila mogu imati rotirajuća svjeta i sirene. Većina redara u Kentakiju ne primaju redovitu plaću, nego su plaćeni posebnim taksam po izvršenom postupku. Ipak, državni zakon omogućuje da im se godišnje isplaćuje 9.600 $ i to u okruzima gdje živi više od 250.000 stanovnika.

      In Kentucky, constables are elected from each magistrate district in the state. There are between three and eight magistrate districts in each county. Under Section 101 of the Kentucky Constitution, constables have the same countywide jurisdiction as the county sheriff. Prior to the 1970s, the main function of the constables was to provide court service and security to the Justice of the Peace courts. However, since these have been eliminated by judicial reform, the office of constable now has few real functions. Constables still have the power of arrest and to execute warrants, subpoenas, summonses and other court documents, and are required to execute any court process given to them. On the approval of the Fiscal court (the legislature of the county) they may equip their vehicles with oscillating blue lights andsirens. Most constables in Kentucky are not paid a salary, but are paid fees for services rendered. However, state law provides for payment of an annual salary of $9,600 to constables in counties with a population of over 250,000.
