STRATEGIC AIR COMMAND
STRATEŠKA AVIO KOMANDA |
|
Strateška avio komanda (Strategic Air Command (SAC)) je bila glavna
komanda USAF-a i „specifična komanda“ Ministarstva odbrane SAD-a. Nakon
raspada Sovjetskog Saveza dolazi do velike reorganizacije glavnih
komandi. Kao dio ove reorganizacije, 01. 06. 1992. godine, ova komanda
prestaje biti Glavna komanda. |
The Strategic Air Command (SAC) was both a Major Command (MAJCOM) of the
USAF and a "specified command" of the U.S. Department of Defence.
Following the fall of the Soviet Union, the Air Force instituted a
comprehensive reorganization of its major commands. As part of this
reorganization, SAC was disestablished as a MAJCOM on 1 June 1992. |

Oznaku Sac-a je 1951. godine kreirao štabni narednik R. T. Barnes, tada
u 92. bombarderskoj eskadrili. Njegov je rad na natječaju izabralo
tročlano povjerenstvo i za svoj dizajn osvaja 100$. Plavo nebo
predstavlja avijacijske operacije i da njihova snaga doseže globalne
razmjere. Ruka u oklopu između ostalog predstavlja silu i lojalnost.
Maslinova grančica je simbol mira, dok munje simboliziraju brzinu i
silu, glavne kvalitete ove komande. Oblaci „govore“ da SAC operira u
svim vremenskim uvjetima. |
The insignia of SAC was designed in 1951 by Staff Sergeant R.T. Barnes,
then assigned to the 92nd Bombardment Wing. Submitted in a command-wide
contest, it was chosen as the winner by a three judge panel. Staff
Sergeant Barnes' winning design netted him a $100 US Savings Bond. The
blue sky is representative of USAF operations. The olive branch, a symbol of peace, and the lightning flashes,
symbolic of speed and power are qualities underlying the mission of
the Strategic Air Command. The blue background of the SAC crest meant
that SAC's reach was through the sky and that it was global in scope.
The clouds meant that SAC was all-weather capable. |

accredited college for the undergraduate education of officer
candidates for the USAF. Its campus is located immediately north of
Colorado Springs, Colorado. Graduates of the Academy's four-year
program receive a Bachelor of Science degree, and most are
commissioned as second lieutenants in the USAF. The Academy is also
one of the largest tourist attractions in Colorado, attracting more
than a million visitors each year. The Academy's organization is
unusual in a number of respects. Because it is primarily a military
unit, much of the Academy's structure is set up like that of any other
Air Force Base. This is particularly true of the non-cadet units—most
assigned to the 10th Air base Wing—that provide base services such as
security and engineering. |

527-ma AGRESORSKA ESKADRILA |
|
Agresorska eskadrila ili protivnička eskadrila (u američkoj mornarici i
USMC-u) je eskadrila koja je osposobljena da djeluje kao protivnička
snaga u vojnim ratnim igrama. Agresorske eskadrile koriste
neprijateljske taktike, tehnike i postupke kako bi pružili realnu
simulaciju zračne borbe (za razliku od treninga protiv vlastitih snaga).
Budući da je nepraktično koristiti stvarne neprijateljske zrakoplove i
opremu, zamjenski zrakoplovi koriste se za oponašanje potencijalnih
protivnika.

An aggressor squadron or adversary squadron (in the US Navy and USMC) is
a squadron that is trained to act as an opposing force in military
wargames. Aggressor squadrons use enemy tactics, techniques, and
procedures to give a realistic simulation of air combat (as opposed to
training against one's own forces). Since it is impractical to use
actual enemy aircraft and equipment, surrogate aircraft are used to
emulate potential adversaries. The USAF also operated Aggressor
squadrons in the UK and in the Philippines. The 527 AS was a USAF in
Europe unit that first operated out of the former RAF Alconbury near
Cambridge, England, then later from the former RAF Bentwaters near
Ipswich. The 527th initially flew F-5s, then later switched to F-16s;
and trained over the North Sea and in Germany, Spain and Italy. |
