The USAF awards pilot ratings at three levels: Pilot, Senior Pilot, and
Command Pilot, to active duty officers and to officers considered as
"rated assets" in the Air Force reserve and Air National Guard (i.e.,
the Air Reserve Components). Rating standards apply equally to both
fixed-wing and helicopter pilots. The higher degrees are denoted by a
star or star with wreath above the badge. Air Force regulations state
that the basic rating denotes completion of specified training and that
the advanced ratings denote experience levels. |

OCCUPATIONAL BADGES
OZNAKE ZANIMANJA |
|
An Air Force Occupational Badge is a military badge of the USAF which is
awarded to those members of the Air Force community who are engaged in
duties “other than flying”. The purpose of the Air Force Occupational
Badge is to denote and recognize training, education and qualifications
received in a particular career field and to provide recognition in an
outwardly displayed badge. The first Air Force Occupational Badges began
appearing on Air Force uniforms in the late 1950s. Prior to this time,
the only Air Force badges authorized were the Pilot's Badge and other
aeronautical rating badges such as the Navigator Badge and Flight
Surgeon Badge. |

kategorije održavanja koje sadrže 35 različitih zanimanja. Oficiri
takođe dobijaju značku. Dizajn napravljen prije uvođenja novih zanimanja
predstavlja sokola koji u jednoj kandži drži bombu, a u drugoj avion
čime simbolizira snagu i mogućnost Avijacije SAD-a, dok vijenac, simbol
mira predstavlja želju za mirom i spremnost svih sistema omogućenu

The Maintenance occupational badge is awarded to enlisted Airmen in four
career fields - Aerospace Maintenance (2A), Precision Measurement (2P),
Maintenance Management (2R), and Munitions & Weapons (2W). All told,
these career fields comprise nearly 35 jobs, with the vast majority of
them (28) involved in Aerospace Maintenance. Officers in the specialty
code 21, Aircraft Maintenance, are also awarded the Maintenance badge.
Designed before this occupational realignment, the heraldic images found
on the Maintenance badge reflect the occupations from which its wearers
are drawn: Aircraft, Communications and Electronics, and Munitions. A
falcon holding a bomb in one talon and an aircraft in the other
symbolizes the ability of the Air Force to deliver powerful blows in the
defense of our nation’s freedom and liberty, while the olive wreath is
emblematic of the peace that is secured by the readiness provided by the
maintenance of all three of the systems. |

The Air Force Space and Missile Badge (AFSMB) was a military badge of
the USAF which was awarded to those personnel who completed training in
space warning, satellite command and control, missile operations, space
surveillance, or space lift. It initially replaced the Missile Badge
when the space and missile operations fields were merged. However, the
Missile Badge was reinstated in 2009. The Air Force Space and Missile
Badge was presented in three grades being that of basic, senior, and
command. The basic badge was awarded for completion of initial space
training while the senior and master badges were awarded based on years
of service in Air Force Space assignments; for officer the steps occur
at seven and fifteen years respectively. For enlisted personnel the
senior badge was awarded upon attaining a "7 skill level" and the master
badge as a MasterSergeants or above with five years in the specialty
from award of the senior badge. The grades of the Air Force Space and
Missile badge were denoted by a star (senior) and wreath (master or
command) centered above the decoration. |
