Armed Forces of Bosnia and
Herzegovina (OSBiH; Oružane snage BiH; Оружане снаге БиХ) is the
official
military
force of
Bosnia and Herzegovina.
It was founded in
2005 and
composed of two founding
armies:
Bosnian-Croat
Army of the Federation of Bosnia and
Herzegovina and the
Bosnian Serb
Army of Republika Srpska.
The
Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina,
founded in
2004, is
in charge of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Conscription
was completely abolished in Bosnia and Herzegovina effective on and from
1 January
2006.
Structure of Military Forces: 10,000
professional soldiers; 1,000 civilian staff; 5,000 reserve forces. |
