AIR COMPONENT  AVIJACIJA

      Avio komponenta (nizozemski: Luchtcomponent, francuski: Composante air), nekadašnje Belgijske zračne snage, zračna je grana belgijskih oružanih snaga. Izvorno osnovana 1909., jedna je od prvih svjetskih avio snaga i bila je pionir u zračnim borbama tokom Prvog svjetskog rata. Početkom devedesetih, kraj Hladnog rata natjerao je belgijsku vladu da restrukturira belgijske oružane snage kako bi se nosile s promijenjenim prijetnjama. Belgijske zračne snage bile su teško pogođene i vidjele su svoju snagu više nego prepolovljenu raspuštanjem 3. taktičkog krila u Biersetu (1994.); raspuštanje 1. borbenog krila u Beauvechainu; 9th Training Wing u Sint-Truidenu; i Osnovnu školu letenja u Goetsenhovenu (1996.).

      The Air Component (Dutch: Luchtcomponent, French: Composante air), formerly the Belgian Air Force, is the air arm of the Belgian Armed Forces. Originally founded in 1909, it is one of the world's first air forces, and was a pioneer in aerial combat during the First World War. Despite many obstacles, it performed commendably even in its first few years of existence. At the beginning of the nineties, the end of the Cold War caused the Belgian government to restructure the Belgian Armed Forces in order to cope with the changed threats. The Belgian Air Force was hit hard and saw its strength more than halved with the disbanding of the 3rd Tactical Wing in Bierset (1994); the disbanding of the 1st Fighter Wing in Beauvechain; the 9th Training Wing in Sint-Truiden; and the Elementary Flying School in Goetsenhoven (1996).

NAVY COMPONENT  MORNARICA

      Belgijska morska komponenta (Force Navale / Zeemacht) je mornarička grana belgijskih oružanih snaga. Činovi imse razlikuju od činova druge tri komponente. Mornarički činovi odgovaraju činovima većine mornarica svijeta. Trenutno u mornaričkoj komponenti ima 1600 ljudi sa dvadeset plovila. U periodu od 2012-2014 dvije će fregate biti zamijenjene fregatama iz nizozemske mornarice. Početkom 2013. godine stiže prvi od helikoptera NH-90 koji će zamjeniti Westland Seaking i Alouette-II od 2014.

      The Belgian naval Component (Force Navale / Zeemacht) is the naval arm of the Belgian military. Belgian naval ranks are unique within the Belgian Defence, corresponding to naval ranks worldwide. It currently has 1,600 personnel and 20 vessels. During 2012-2014 the 2 Belgian Navy Frigates will be upgraded followed suit by the 2 Frigates of the Dutch Navy. In 2013 the first NH-90 Helicopter has been delivered and will be introduced into service replacing the Westland Seaking and Alouette-II from 2014 onwards.
