Безбедносно-информативна агенција

      Sigurnosno-informativna agencija (Безбедносно-информативна агенција, БИА) je nacionalna sigurnosno-obavještajna agencija Srbije. Agencija je odgovorna za prikupljanje, izvještavanje i širenje obavještajnih podataka, te provođenje protuobavještajnih radnji u interesu nacionalne sigurnosti Srbije.

      The Security Intelligence Agency (Безбедносно-информативна агенција, romanized: Bezbednosno-informativna agencija; abbr. БИА / BIA) is a national security and intelligence agency of Serbia. The agency is responsible for collecting, reporting and disseminating intelligence, and conducting counterintelligence in the interest of Serbia's national security.

      Glavne misije Sigurnosno-obavještajne agencije su: sigurnost Republike Srbije; otkrivanje i sprječavanje aktivnosti usmjerenih na podrivanje ili narušavanje ustavnog poretka Republike Srbije; istraživanje, obrada i procjena sigurnosno-obavještajnih podataka i informacija značajnih za sigurnost Republike Srbije te obavještavanje državnih tijela i druge aktivnosti određene zakonom.

      Sigurnosno-obavještajnom agencijom rukovodi ravnatelj, a podijeljena je na uprave: Upravu za operativne poslove; Obavještajna uprava; Uprava za analitiku; Uprava za protuobavještajnu zaštitu; Uprava za osiguranje, Tehnička uprava; Uprava za istraživanje, razvoj i obrazovanje  i Uprava za logistiku. Postoji i šest regionalnih središta smještenih u najvećim gradovima, kao i 28 teritorijalnih središta u manjim gradovima širom zemlje.

      The main missions of the Security Intelligence Agency are:security of the Republic of Serbia; detection and prevention of the activities aimed at undermining or disrupting of constitutional order of the Republic of Serbia; research, processing and assessing the security and intelligence data and information significant for the security of the Republic of Serbia and informing state authorities and other activities defined by law.

      The Security Intelligence Agency is headed by the Director and is subdivided into directorates: Directorate for Operations; Directorate for Intelligence; Directorate for Analytics; Directorate for Counterintelligence Protection; Directorate for Security, Technical Directorate; Directorate for Research, Development and Education and Logistics Directorate. There are also six regional centers (регионални центри) located in largest cities as well as 28 territorial centers (територијални центри) in smaller towns spread throughout the country.

SHORT HISTORY   KRATKA HISTORIJA 

      Dan Sigurnosno-obavještajne agencije slavi se 17. listopada, na obljetnicu osnivanja prve sigurnosno-obavještajne službe u Srbiji. Tog dana 1899. godine osnovan je Odjel za tajne policijske poslove. Zaštitnik (krsna slava) Sigurnosno-obavještajne agencije je Sveti Arhangel Mihailo (Aranđelovdan).

      Day of the Security Intelligence Agency is celebrated on 17 October, the anniversary of the establishment of the first security and intelligence service of Serbia. On that day in 1899, the Department for Secret Police Work is founded. The patron saint (krsna slava) of the Security Intelligence Agency is Saint Michael the Archangel (Aranđelovdan).

      Godine 1991., usred raspada Jugoslavije, Služba državne sigurnosti Srbije transformirana je u Upravu državne sigurnosti – RDB (Resor državne bezbjednosti) kao dio Ministarstva unutarnjih poslova. Uprava državne sigurnosti osnovala je 1991. Jedinicu za specijalne operacije.

      In 1991, in the middle of the breakup of Yugoslavia, the State Security Service of Serbia was transformed into the Directorate of State Security - RDB (Department of State Security) as part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In 1991, the State Security Administration established the Special Operations Unit.

      Uprava državne bezbjednosti prestala je postojati osnivanjem Bezbjedonosno-obavještajne agencije, 27. 07. 2002. godine. Po prvi put u srpskoj historiji, civilni sigurnosni i obavještajni rad odvojen je od Ministarstva unutarnjih poslova. U maju 2018. godine izmijenjen je Zakon o Bezbjedonosno-obavještajnoj agenciji, kojim su direktoru dane dodatne ovlasti i dodatno definirani detalji vezani uz rad zaposlenika agencije.

      The State Security Service ceased to exist with the establishment of the Security Intelligence Agency on July 27, 2002. For the first time in Serbian history, civilian security and intelligence work was separated from the Ministry of the Interior. In May 2018, the Law on the Security and Intelligence Agency was amended, which gave the director additional powers and additionally defined details related to the work of the agency's employees.
