FEDERAL POLICE
SAVEZNA POLICIJA
Policía Federal |
|
policije. |

The Policía Federal Argentina (PFA; in English
Argentine Federal Police) is a nationwide
police force,
it is the
Federal police agency
of
Argentina,
with detachments in each of the country's
provinces,
with a jurisdiction and organization similar to the
United States'
FBI.
Because of this, most routine police work is carried out by the
provincial police (equivalent to state police in the
United States),
with the exception of the capital city of
Buenos Aires,
where the PFA also assumes the role of the local police. |

policija i Buenos Aires Metropolitan policija. Često se nazivaju „Policía
Bonaerense“ gdje je Bonaerese nadimak provincije. Postoje i oznake za
rukav sa tim nazivom. Stanovnici glavnog grada imaju nadimak porteño.
Provincijska policija je podređena Provincijskom ministarstvu
sigurnosti na čijem je čelu ministar. Šef policijskih snaga ima titulu
Superintendente General de Policia. U prvih šest mjeseci 2009. godine
ubijeno je sedam policajaca ove službe. |

The Buenos Aires Provincial Police (Policía de la Provincia de
Buenos Aires, informally Policía Bonaerense) is the police service
responsible for policing the Province of Buenos Aires, in Argentina.
It is one of the biggest police services of Argentina, responsible for
policing a province of over 15 million inhabitants, about 38% of
Argentina's entire population. It is not, however, responsible for
policing the Federal Capital district of Buenod Aires city, which is
under the jurisdiction of the Argentine federal Police and the Buenos
Aires Metropolitan Police. The institution is usually referred to as
Policía Bonaerense, where bonaerense is the demonym for the
Province of Buenos Aires, in contrast with porteño, used for the
inhabitants of the Buenos Aires city. This police force is subordinate
to the Provincial Ministry of Security headed by Ministe. The Chief of
the force has the title of Superintendente General de Policia, which
translates as Superintendent General of Police. Seven members of the
service were murdered in the first six months of 2009. |

"HALCON" SPECIAL
OPERATION BRIGADE
"SOKOL" BRIGADA ZA SPECIJALNE OPERACIJE |
|
Brigada za specijalne operacije operacije "Halcon" (Brigada Especial
Operativa Halcón
BEOH) je pod
operativnom kontrolom savezne policije, a direktnom komandom
policije Buenos Airesa. Potreba za osnivanjem ovakve jedinice se
javila 1978. godine, radi održavanja Svjetskog kupa u nogometu.
Argentinske vojske. |

The Brigada Especial Operativa Halcón (BEOH;
Hawk Special Operations Brigade) is a
special opertions
division of the
Buenos Aires Police
in
Argentina.
Argentina did not possess a viable
counter-terrorist
capability until 1978, when it hosted the
football World Cup.
At that time, the
federal government
accepted the possibility that such a widely-televised event was a
likely forum for a
terroris
incident. The result was the formation of a special counter-terrorist
team, the Brigada Halcón. Today, the unit is made up of seventy-five
commandos, subdivided into fifteen-man tactical teams. Each team has
two
snipers,
one medic, one negotiator, an
EOD
expert, a communications
specialist, an intelligence specialist, and eight tactical assaulters.
Initial training is divided into three two-month stages. Skills such
as combat shooting, heliborne insertion,
HALO/HAHO
parachuting,
explosives,
sniping,
intelligence gathering,martial
arts,
and offensive
driving
are covered in this period. The unit also handles
VIP
protection and is also responsible for hijacked aircraft throughout
the nation. While many current members are veterans of the
Argentine Army,
the Brigada Halcón is under the operational control of the
federal police,
under the direct command of the Buenos Aires Police Department. |

The Argentine National Gendarmerie (Gendarmería
Nacional Argentina; GNA) is the
gendarmerie
and corps of border guards of
Argentina.
The Argentine National Gendarmerie has a strength of 12,000. The
Gendarmerie is primarily a frontier guard force but also fulfils other
important roles. The force functions from four regional headquarters
at
Campo de Mayo,
Córdoba,
Rosario,
and
Bahía Blanca.
The Gendarmerie was created in 1938 by the National Congres. They were
particularly tasked with providing security in isolated and sparsely
populated frontier regions which had only been settled relatively
recently. In many senses the Gendarmerie may still be considered an
adjunct of the Argentine Army. |
