Provođenje zakona u Litvaniji je odgovornost „jedinstvene nacionalne policije koja odgovara Ministarstvu unutrašnjih poslova“. Policijskim odjelom Ministrastva unutrašnjih poslova rukovodi Generalni policijski komesar. Policijske snage se dijele na nacionalnu i gradsku policiju. Nacionalna policija se sastoji od kriminalističke, prometne i temeljne policije. Ured krim policije nije teritorijalno podijeljen i zaduženi su za prevenciju i provođenje istraga te suradnja sa policijama drugih država.
