Direkcija policije je organizaciona jedinica Ministarstva unutrašnjih poslova koja je nadležna za obavljanje policijskih i drugih unutrašnjih poslova. Direkcijom policije rukovodi direktor policije.

      U sastavu Direkcije policije su organizacione jedinice u sjedištu (uprave, centri, jedinice, specijalna i posebne jedinice policije): Ured direktora policije koji u svom sastavu ima i orkestar policije, Kancelarija za koordinaciju aktivnosti u borbi protiv trgovine ljudima, Uprava kriminalističke policije, Uprava policije, Uprava saobraćajne policije, Uprava granične policije, Uprava za upravne poslove, Komandno-operativni centar, Uprava za međunarodnu operativnu policijsku suradnju, Jedinica za zaštitu, Jedinica za obezbeđenje određenih ličnosti i objekata, Žandarmerija, Helikopterska jedinica, Specijalna antiteroristička jedinica i Koordinaciona uprava za Kosovo i Metohiju.

      The Directorate of Police is an organizational unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs that is responsible for performing police and other internal affairs. The police directorate is managed by the police director.

      The Police Directorate consists of organizational units at the headquarters (administrations, centers, units, special police and special police units): Office of the Director of Police, which includes a police orchestra, Office for Coordination of Activities in the Fight against Human Trafficking, Criminal Police Directorate, Police Directorate, Traffic Police Directorate, Border Police Directorate, Administrative Affairs Directorate, Command and Operations Center, Directorate for International Operational Police Cooperation, Protection Unit, Unit for Security of Certain Persons and Facilities, Gendarmerie, Helicopter unit, special anti-terrorist unit and Coordination Directorate for Kosovo and Metohija.

      Direkcijom policije rukovodi direktor koga postavlja Vlada na prijedlog ministra na period od pet godina. On može biti biran na najviše dva mandata. Sekretarijat ima pravno-savjetodavnu ulogu u provođenju politika i poslova od interesa za ministarstvo unutrašnjih poslova u cjelini, pruža stručnu pravnu podršku ministarstvu prilikom suradnje sa drugim državnim organima, i ostale poslove kojima se osigurava nesmetan, efikasan i usklađen rad svih organizacionih jedinica u ministarstvu.

      The police directorate is managed by a director who is appointed by the government on the proposal of the minister for a period of five years. He can be elected for a maximum of two terms. The Secretariat has a legal-advisory role in the implementation of policies and affairs of interest to the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a whole, provides expert legal support to the Ministry when cooperating with other state bodies, and other tasks that ensure the smooth, efficient and coordinated work of all organizational units in the Ministry.

      Službena značka policijskog službenika u statusu ovlašćenog službenog lica sa činom generala policije sastoji se od zlatnog štita sa devet vertikala različite visine simetrično postavljenih, lente u plavoj boji sa natpisom: „POLICIJA” u zlatnoj boji, malog centralnog štita u čijem središtu je lociran kružni prsten u plavoj boji koji obavija Mali grb Republike Srbije sa natpisom u zlatnoj boji: „REPUBLIKA SRBIJA”, malih zastava Republike Srbije sa leve i desne strane centralnog štita, zlatne lente sa brojem službene značke u crnoj boji i sistema linija (zrakova) koji centralno polaze od grba Republike Srbije i pripadaju centralnom štitu.

      The official badge of a police officer in the status of an authorized official with the rank of police general consists of a golden shield with nine verticals of different heights symmetrically placed, a blue ribbon with the inscription: "POLICE" in gold, a small central shield in the center of which is located a circular ring in blue surrounding the small coat of arms of the Republic of Serbia with the inscription in gold: "REPUBLIC OF SERBIA", small flags of the Republic of Serbia on the left and right sides of the central shield, gold ribbons with the number of the official badge in black and a system of lines (rays) that start centrally from the coat of arms of the Republic of Serbia and belong to the central shield.

      Službena značka policijskog službenika u statusu ovlašćenog službenog lica u Direkciji policije izrađena je u obliku stilizovanog srebrnog štita sa devet vertikala različite visine, simetrično postavljenih, lente u plavoj boji sa natpisom: „POLICIJA” u srebrnoj boji, malog centralnog štita u čijem središtu je lociran kružni prsten u plavoj boji koji obavija Mali grb Republike Srbije sa tekstom u zlatnoj boji: „REPUBLIKA SRBIJA”, malih zastava Republike Srbije sa leve i desne strane centralnog štita, srebrne lente sa brojem službene značke u crnoj boji i sistema linija (zrakova) koji centralno polaze od grba Republike Srbije i pripadaju centralnom štitu.
