Within the Dutch police in use are the following ranks: Chief of Police (Hoofdcommissaris); Chief Superintendent (Commissaris); Superintendent (Hoofdinspecteur); Chief Inspector (Inspecteur); Inspector (Brigadier); Sergeant (Hoofdagent); Constable (Agent); Police Patrol Officer (Surveillant)and Police Trainee (Aspirant).

Uz gore prikazane činove postoje i takozvani posebni istražitelji (Buitengewoon Opsporings Ambtenaren) koji uobičajeno ne pripadaju gornjem sistemu činova. Ovi posebni istražitelji su ovlašteni za različite dužnosti, kao naprimjer kontrola parkiranja ili red na željeznici itd... To uglavnom znači da mogu upozoravati i kažnjavati prekršitelje, ali bez upotrebe oružja ili sile.


PARKING CONTROL Kontrola parkiranja

In addition to these ranks, the so-called Buitengewoon Opsporings Ambtenaren (Special Investigation Officials) serve in the force. These are usually not a part of the above rank system. These special investigation officials may be authorised for specific duties such as parking duties or railway duties. Often it means they are authorised to uphold specific laws by fining transgressors, without the use of weapons or any other use of force.
