Milicija (lat.), organ Sekretarijata unutrašnjih poslova
društveno-političkih zajednica SFRJ. Zadatak joj je da neposredno štiti
živote i ličnu slobodu građana, društvenu i ličnu imovinu, održava javni
red i mir i javnu bezbjednost, sprečava narušavanje društvenog poretka,
otkriva krivična djela i njihove izvršioce i osigurava izvršenje drugih
poslova određenih zakonom ili propisima donijetim na osnovu zakona.
Naoružana je, opremljena potrebnim tehničkim sredstvima i uniformirana.
Organizacija milicije i njenih radnika usklađeni su sa društvenim
samoupravljanjem. Organizirana je u organizacijsko-formacijske jedinice:
odjeljenja, stanice, vodove, čete, bataljone, odrede i brigade milicije.
U miru usko surađuje sa organima JNA i vojne policije, a u ratu je
sastavni dio teritorijalne obrane SFRJ. Za osposobljavanje kadrova
milicije postoje posebne školske institucije. Milicija je osnovana u
toku NOR-a na oslobođenim i poluoslobođenim područjima pri NOO ili
komandama mjesta, pod različitim nazivima: partizanska straža, seoska
straža, narodna zaštita i dr. Od 1944. nazivala se Narodna milicija, a
od 1966. godine Milicija. |

Militia (lat.), organ of the Secretariat of Internal Affairs of the
socio-political communities of the SFRY. Its task is to directly protect
the lives and personal freedom of citizens, social and personal
property, maintain public order and peace and public security, prevent
disruption of social order, detect criminal acts and their perpetrators,
and ensure the execution of other tasks determined by law or regulations
adopted on the basis of law. It is armed, equipped with the necessary
technical means and uniformed. The organization of the militia and its
workers are aligned with social self-management. It is organized into
organizational and formational units: departments, stations, platoons,
companies, battalions, detachments and militia brigades. In peacetime,
it closely cooperates with the bodies of the JNA and the military
police, and in wartime it is an integral part of the territorial defense
of the SFRY. There are special school institutions for the training of
militia personnel. The militia was established during the NOR in the
liberated and semi-liberated areas under the NOO or local commands,
under different names: partisan guard, village guard, national
protection, etc. From 1944, it was called the People's Militia (Narodna
milicija), and from 1966, the Militia (Milicija). |
