DIVISION ŠESTA
DIVIZIJA |

protuudaru smrtonosnom silom u obrani svojih sugrađana i države. Znak

DIVIZIJA |

Crna
pantera predstavlja dobar znak. Njene zelene oči vide i u mraku, a po
prirodi je žestoki napadač. Oštri, iskeženi zubi simboliziraju
smrtonosni ugriz.

Black Panther, a black cat, is seen as a good sign. Its green eyes
represent its prowess in the dark of the night. By nature, the panther
is fierce and aggressive when it attacks. The sharp fangs symbolise its
deadly bites. The dashing panther symbolises the momentum and strength
of the division surging forward to boldly embrace the challenges ahead.
9 Div was officially formed on 1 Oct 1978 as a 'Reserves' Division. It
has a humble beginning in a quiet cluster of buildings at Loewen Rd Camp
in Tanglin. However, as the formation grew in strength and numbers over
the years, a move to new premises soon became necessary as the expanding
division quickly outgrew its Tanglin headquarters. 17th August 2004
marks the birth of a new entity, 9th Singapore Division and Infantry
Formation. Besides being a regular combined arms division, it is also
responsible for the efficient generation and training of infantry units
for the army order of battle. |

NARODNA OBRANA |

Zlatni lav,
simbolizira napad. lav svojom rikom nagovještava obranu svojeg
teritorija ili mladunaca. Lav predstavlja i poginule pripadnike korpusa.
Tamnoplava boja podsjeća na dužnosti u obrani suvereniteta, sigurnosti i
opstanka nacije. |

The Golden Lion - a symbol of courage and power, renowned for its vigour
and energy, legendary for its strength and agility. Since its dramatic
entry into the Singapore Volunteer Corps (SVC) in 1928, it has become an
icon for the people who answered the call to arms, the call to defend
Singapore. The Lion stands guard in the architecture of many prominent
institutions today just as the "statant" lion symbolised the roles of
guardians played by the SVC then. Just as the SVC has grown in stature
and rejuvenated as the People's Defence Force (PDF), the lion has become
a passant lion - walking with, three paws on the ground, dexter paw
raised, tail curved over the back and head looking forward, roaring.
Whenever it roars, the lion is known to return to its den and protect
its brethren. The lion in defence serves to honour the lion who took on
the mission to defend their homeland - a united people who laid the
foundation from which the Singapore Armed Forces grew. Maroon background
embodies the colour of blood and reminds us of our sacred duty as the
last post on which the sovereignty, security and survival of our nation
depends upon. |

ARTILJERIJA |

Bomba, kao krajnje sredstvo uništenja neprijatelja, smještena iznad
dvije ukrštene topovske cijevi predstavlja sigurnost, preciznost i
jedinicama. Zlatna boja obruba i topova prestavlja odanost domovini.
Topovske cijevi predstavljaju osnovni simbol svih artiljerijskih oružja. |

Positioned above the cross barrels, it also symbolises accuracy,
timeliness and firepower of all Artillery Units; Red Background is for
fire - thus firepower. No one can dispense with the Artillery in modern
warfare. by injecting firepower at a crucial point, it changes the tide
of battle. Firepower must come from the artillery as it is our main
role. Gold Colour symbolizes loyalty to the country, President, unit and
to the manoeuvre force; The cannon is a generic or family name and a
basis symbol for all tube Artillery pieces. Blue Background symbolises
'royalty' and 'distinction'. Its interperetation for Gunners is that
they are a 'Special Breed', a class of its own among the elite group. |

Bajonete na znaku predstavljaju oklopljenu pješadiju, a stisnuta metalna
šaka snagu kojom udaraju oklopnjaci, a istovremeno predstavlja i zaštitu
Prva
oklopna jedinica, poznata kao 41 SAR (singapurska oklopna regimenta)
formirana je u Keat Hong garnizonu. |

formed at Keat Hong Camp. Through the years, members of the Armour
formation are well-known for their esprit de corps. This is result of a
